From the Executive Director
Hello! I am delighted that you are looking at The Inn on Westport for yourself or a loved one. It is my job to ensure that all who live here have a quality of life that is exceptional.
In addition to the many other services which we offer, there is a rich variety of activities that focus on promoting a sense of independence and a sense of community that is essential to their well-being. At The Inn on Westport we make every attempt to meet each resident's physical, social, spiritual, emotional and intellectual needs. And we definitely have fun here!
We have opportunities and choices for everyone...
- Activity staff that is trained to develop, implement and provide a well- balanced activity program.
- Intergenerational programming which offer seniors and children to spend time together if desired.
- Van transportation anywhere within the city limits to shop, visit friends & family, attend meetings, or medical appointments.
- Outings to many local popular attractions; such as visits to the state capitol, a boat cruise, theatre and concert trips, casinos meals to local restaurants, etc...
- Health and fitness programs for seniors including a walking club, Nu Step equipment, and health screenings involving the local hospitals.
- An interdenominational chaplain who supports Sunday services, vespers, choir, and Bible study.
- A creamics studio, billiards room, chapel, library, computer room, dining quarters to host your own parties.
- Located within walking distance to shops, wellness center, library,movie theatres, city parks and walking trails.
- Spectacular events such as the Annual Holiday Ball, Pancake Breakfast, presentation of "The Living Last Supper", performances by the SD Symphony, etc.
- Volunteer opportunities within the community such as; greeting at a local high school, reading to tots at a local daycare, fixing wheelchairs for handicapped chhildren, and many more.
The best part of my job is seeing individuals move into The Inn on Westport and begin to make new friends and create an enjoyable, productive life through the many opportunities provided for them.
